The Frank Yip Scholarship Fund was established by the CMIA Board of Directors in 1998. It was created to honor the memory of Franklin Yip after his untimely passing.
CMIA officers and members worked diligently to create and refine the policies governing applicant eligibility and criteria for choosing award recipients. The Fund was endowed by donations from individuals, vendors and Chapter fundraisers. The first award presentation from the Fund was made in January 2002 at the Awards Ceremony and Banquet.
To qualify for a scholarship award, studies must be of a post-high school nature, at an educational facility in the state of California, or on the Internet, from California.
