The premier conference for those in Healthcare Technology Management is expanded this year to a three-day event including a golf tournament, networking events, keynotes speaker, educational sessions, and an outreach event to introduce high schoolers to the Biomed field.

The conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza San Diego. A room block for the conference has been reserved at $122/night.

Herman A. McKenzie, MBA, CHSP Acting Director, Department of Engineering
Herman McKenzie is currently the Acting Director, Department of Engineering in the Standards Interpretation Group at The Joint Commission. In this role, he manages all activities associated with the daily operations of the Engineering department, provides standards interpretation and education to The Joint Commission’s Surveyors and accredited organizations, reviews equivalency requests and survey reports, conducts surveys and Intracycle Monitoring conference calls, and serves as faculty for educational programs and a speaker for national, regional, state, and local audiences. Mr. McKenzie has more than 25 years of health care experience having held managerial and director level roles in clinical engineering, plant operations and facilities services throughout the Chicagoland area. He was part of the team that opened the first new hospital in Illinois in over 25 years. Mr. McKenzie holds a Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration from Governors State University. He also is a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP).

Conference Schedule
Come Thursday to play in the CMIA Golf Tournament and CMIA Connect Kick-Off hosted by MD Expo or start your two-day conference experience on Friday with educational sessions, exhibitors and an outreach event. The Keynote Dinner will be Friday January 24 and CMIA Networking Event will wrap up the conference on Saturday evening.
