Brad Dolliver
CMIA Capitol Region Chapter is sad to announce the passing of last year's Chapter President Brad Dolliver last weekend, in El Dorado Hills, Ca. from stroke. Brad was the driving force that took a chapter that was falling apart and turning it around into a unqualified success. What is more moving about his caring for CMIA so much that he would dedicate much personal time to its success, was the fact that Brad was NOT a Biomed. Brad was a commercial representative from the private corporate side of the medical business. His involvement and giving inspired many others from the "business" side of our work to very actively support CMIA, resulting in the continuing success the Capitol Region Chapter is having. Brad's smiling, positive, attitude and dedication to our profession will be sorely missed.
Details on a memorial fund for his family will be posted when they are available. You may email William D. Knight, CBET for further information.

AAMI Meeting recap
CMIA Booth a Hit
The AAMI conference in San Jose is now history. The CMIA booth in the Expo hall was well attended, had a lot of information and most importantly had a great volunteer turnout. Paul Kelley, the Chair of the committee thanks Dave Ogren and Bill Knight for their valuable input and assistance on the committee. He also thanks all of the volunteers who worked with the booth and other assignments. Unfortunately there are too many to name here.
L-L-R: Marcia Wylie from San Diego, John Reinhart from Northern California, and Charles VanDorn of the Bay Area Chapters.
L-L-R:Todd Walt and Mo Lahai (partially hidden) from Central Valley, and John Kardaris from Bay Area are speaking to Expo attendees.
The CMIA had a very strong presence at the conference. Chris Dinegar, Vice President of Education for AAMI said “CMIA’s contributions to the annual conference were felt on many levels. From recruitment of tremendous speakers, to marketing to the local area, to providing insights to issues specific to California that attendees would find interesting, CMIA’s participation helped make AAMI 2008 one of the strongest conferences in our history with over 2,000 individuals participating in the event from all walks of the healthcare technology management field.”
At the both, the CMIA had the privilege of raffling off 6 copies of the new book, “A Practicum for Biomedical Technology & Management Issues” edited by Les Atles, CCE, CBET. The winners were: John Reinhart – Ukaiah, CA; George Lakis - Maimi, Florida; Fred Hosea – Berkeley, CA; Daniel Muro – Moses Lake, WA; Graham Wickham – Vancouver, BC, Canada; and Earl Small – Santa Rosa, CA.
